so what is this rainbow region?
Basically is a region of the north east region of NSW in Aussie land. Prior to 1973 is was failing, drought ridden and had a dwindling population. Thanks to an initiative by NUAUS (National Union of Australian University Students), a small town of Nimbin was chosen to be the focus of an Aussie Woodstock, but with a difference. The Aquarius Festival would last 10 days, and then would be the beginning of a back to nature ecology driven commune. An estimated 15000 people poured into this small town of 150 inhabitants, and the rest is history. We became hippies with a vengeance. This video from You Tube gives a flavour of what life there is like today. Take the time to enjoy this long video of our unique Rainbow Region. (approx 58mins).
enjoy.
a moving video
Let's cut to the chase. This is the biggest crisis to face the world-ever! Global warming.
Lots of ways to talk about it, portray it, explain it, even move people by it.
Well get ready to be moved

You Tube for you
I heard that these days that You Tube get 8 thousand (or was that 80 thousand) posting per minute. I spend enough time on Youtube, but only see a fraction of what is up there, but what I do seek out is engaging, and interesting. Even entertaining. For instance think of any entertainer, music band or artist of the last 40 or so years, chances are, they will be there on Youtube. just type the subject in the search bar .Want to see bits of woodstock that weren't on the album? It's there on Youtube. Want to see the musical genius of Glenn Gould playing Bach? It's there on Youtube.
Here's a tip: if you want to see a video on full screen, click the icon on the right hand bottom corner of the frame.
I don't expect I'll have that many readers of this blog.. Let's say it's an exclusive blog for an eclectic audience.
It's no doubt there is much on Youtube that is not interesting or entertaining, or not to your taste. If you're reading my blogs you might decide my tastes are ok.
I want to share with you things you never though of looking for, or things you just didn't know about. Is Glenn Gould new to you? Then something to show to your friends. Glenn Gould is a musical legend, he plays Bach like no one else. And hey! I bet you get to like Bach too. Piano music that is so old, yet fits so well in today's world.
